Overview:

We’re looking for a Publishing Tech Specialist with proven experience in formatting and uploading print-ready books to IngramSpark. This is a one-time project for a completed manuscript and cover design that needs to meet IngramSpark’s strict specifications for print-on-demand distribution.

The ideal candidate has handled similar projects before and is confident navigating the technical requirements of professional publishing platforms.

This is a follow-up project from an existing client—if this goes well, there may be additional publishing projects in the pipeline!

Key Responsibilities:

🖨️ Create Print-Ready PDF for IngramSpark:

Ensure proper bleed and margin setup (1/8” or 0.125”)
Calculate accurate spine width based on total page count and paper type
Embed all fonts into the PDF
Apply the correct CMYK ICC color profile
Format interior and cover as separate high-resolution PDF files
Optimize all images to meet the 240–300 DPI requirement

💻 IngramSpark Upload Assistance:

Guide or handle the technical process of uploading files to IngramSpark
Ensure all formatting validations pass successfully
Provide support in addressing any error messages or file rejections

Key Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of IngramSpark’s file requirements and publishing process
Experience creating print-ready PDFs with professional publishing tools (Adobe InDesign, Affinity Publisher, etc.)
Comfortable with spine width calculations, bleeds, DPI checks, and color profiles
Ability to embed fonts and troubleshoot PDF export issues
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
